Experience World-Class Eye Exams at Nagle and Associates Optometrists
At Nagle and Associates, we take pride in offering one of the most comprehensive and technologically advanced eye examinations available. Your eye health and vision are our priority, and our detailed process ensures you receive the best possible care.
What to Expect During Your Eye Examination
Your appointment begins with a conversation about your visual and medical history. We’ll ask about:
• Your current glasses or contact lenses
• The reason for your visit
• Any vision problems or symptoms you’re experiencing
• Your general health and any medications you’re taking, as these can affect your eyes
• Any personal or family history of eye conditions
• Your work environment and hobbies, helping us tailor solutions to suit your lifestyle
If you wear glasses, we’ll assess your current prescription and check what you’re able to see through them.
Advanced Vision and Eye Health Testing
Using a phoropter and other precision instruments, we’ll test:
• The strength and alignment of your eye muscles
• The balance between your eyes
• Your pupil reactions where necessary
• Your spectacle refraction — the prescription needed for the clearest, most comfortable vision at various distances
If you wear contact lenses, we’ll evaluate the fit, strength, and type of lenses you’re using to ensure they’re still the best option for you.
Comprehensive Eye Health Assessment
The next step is a thorough check of the health of your eyes — front and back. This includes examining:
• Front of the eye: eyelids, lashes, sclera, conjunctiva, cornea, iris, and lens
• Back of the eye: vitreous, retina, optic nerve, macula, and retinal blood vessels
We use state-of-the-art technology to detect, monitor, and manage potential problems — from common concerns like glaucoma and macular degeneration to less common issues such as retinal detachments, degenerations, and eye tumours. Our advanced equipment helps identify conditions that aren’t always visible with a simple photograph, offering you peace of mind through early detection.
After Your Examination
Once your tests are complete, we’ll carefully explain the results and discuss the best next steps — whether that’s a new pair of glasses, monitoring a condition, or referring you to a specialist if needed.
If it’s time for new spectacles or you’d like to refresh your style, our friendly Dispensing Opticians, Jovi and Michaela, are here to help. They’ll assist you in selecting a frame that complements your look and advise on lenses to suit your vision and lifestyle.
